Earle and Evelyn Mitchell were my grandparents.

Evelyn was born March 13 1928 in Qualicum Beach, British Columbia, to Cyril (Frederick) and Alice (Maude) Bagnall. She was the youngest of two children and had an older brother Robert (Bob).

Earle was born February 8 1920 in Kindersley, Saskatchewan, to Nathan and Elfreda Mitchell. Earle was the third of six children, and had four brothers (Norman, Elwin, Howard, and Gerald) and one sister (Olive).

Earle and Evelyn were married May 1 1948 at Qualicum Beach, British Columbia, when Evelyn was 20 years old and Earle was 28. They had four children over 13 years, including two daughters (Sherry and Vicki, now Maia), and two sons (Brian and Blair, both adopted).

Earle died March 1 2012 at Qualicum Beach, British Columbia, at the age of 92. Earle and Evelyn had been married for 63 years. Evelyn died March 8 2023 at the age of 94 at Parksville, British Columbia.

1950s

The 1950s brought two daughters, Vicki in 1950 and Sherry in 1953. Earle and Evelyn also kept busy upgrading their house, embarking on camping trips, spending days at the beach, playing in the snow, and trips to the prairies and USA.

1950s Life

1960s

The 1960s brought two sons, Brian in 1960 and Blair in 1963. Camping trips and vacations to California continued, along with annual Christmas celebrations with family.

1970s

In the 1970s Earle and Evelyn saw both daughters married and the arrival of grandchildren with Alexandra in 1978 and Matthew in 1979.

1980-1990s

The 1980s and onwards saw Earle and Evelyn embracing retirement, which involved get togethers and trips with friends, as well as spending time with their grandchildren, including Jordan who arrived in 1982.
